It probably covers up the henway.
I'd remove it and see.

Re: Hatch vent options
So your AC vents through this piece?
The design looks fancy. You need to post pics of it installed.

Re: Stupid Question 1:Fuse Replacement
After breaking a fuse holder because I couldn't figure out how to open it, I decided to upgrade the entire panel with circuit breakers (I know they are not as good as fuses) and LED pilot lights. The seadog panel light bulbs were drawing a lot of power just for the pilot lights. New panel has more c...

Re: Courageous Mod 4: Electrical Upgrades!
Nice work. Installing second (house) battery in the v-berth is probably a good place as long as it's anchored down. Lots of pounding from waves up there. My boat needs more weight forward. I've not installed AC power on a boat, however is this Romex and wire nuts? I don't think this is the recommend...

Re: HDPE to replace smoked acrylic above sink
Many have used that material for projects. Should work nicely.
Roger used acrylic mirror for many openings on the M. Roger used smoke polycarbonate for many things as well. However, it seems the PO of your boat mangled that stuff as it's hard to cut without damaging.

Re: Stupid Question 1:Fuse Replacement
That standard fuse panel was the first thing I replaced. I broke many fuses forcing the wrong way.
If I remember, you insert something like a paperclip in the side to release the fuse.

Re: The actual odds of being hit by lightning
Dimitri, it sounds like you have done quite a bit to protect for lightning as best you can. Living in lightning alley it is expected.
Do you have one of those Whole House Surge Protectors? I would imagine it's almost code in Florida.

Wow....it seems like anything connected got fried.
I recently experienced a home lightning strike. Killed a bunch of things and popped every GFI.
Don't mess with lightning

Re: The actual odds of being hit by lightning
You need to buy a lottery ticket. You do live in lightning alley so there is that. Interesting that the diffuser did nothing to prevent a strike. I've been tempted to buy one. Now I think not. Grounding seems to be a difficult thing to do. I guess your grounding wires gave it a path rather than thro...

I should have figured you might be hosting images now with as much trouble as its been in the past. Perhaps you scale them down so they dont use as much space They are not scaled for space. The full image is available if you click on the "smaller" image. They are only scaled for displayin...

That's an interesting boat. Is the green hull faster?
