Re: Repower and Repair or Sell?

You have to weigh your options. New (ish) motor. Maybe pick up a used motor and slap it on. The gelcoat is cosmetic. I've seen MUCH worse brought back to new with a little TLC. Rigging stuff can be pricy, but not as bad as other boats. It may be it's too much for you and another person might take th...

Re: Rigging the Reefing setup on a MacGregor 25

Congrats on the find. There will no doubt be legal challenges to title it. I'm not familiar with laws up there, but some states down here can be a real PITA to register an abandoned boat. YES, pictures would help much. Your description is hard to visualize and yes, sounds like you are talking about ...

Lol it's short for "take the wheel, son" otherwise known as the autopilot motor circuit. Stolen idea from Beau and Brandy on youtube.

Nice work.

Thank you. We have these ski boats with their tower speaker systems blasting all over.

So on your switch panel, what is "Wilson"?

Re: 1st splash, sail and beaching on Lake Powell this season

I wonder why those Nissan's discolor. I'm sure you could paint it. It looks like some crazy UV stuff. It's STARLink. I googled "Earthlink" and it's a thing. Former company was a big dial up provider. I guess they also do some fiber stuff now. The Starlink "dish" is flat. Some ama...

Re: Winch Handle Holder?

To be honest, I've never used my winch handle. Mine is stored down below someplace.

I luff the sails, pull them in, and then fall off. Simple and fast.

IF I were to use it, I would mount a holder next to the companionway close to the winches.

Nice! Yea, that main looks sad. Mostly looks dirty. I wonder how it would clean up. I noticed your trailer jack doesn't have a wheel. One of these. https://www.harborfreight.com/trailer-jack-swivel-wheel-57901.html What is that "Earthlink" dish. Looks like a Starlink dish. That Nissan cowl...

Yes it is. My tanks would probably be in better shape if they were not UV damaged.

12 Gallon fuel tanks

Checking on my boat the fuel tanks are original (2008) and looking a bit UV damaged.

So what are we using now for 12 gal tanks on the 26M? I know the original tanks are no longer made. Is there a similar replacement?

Re: Wiring Up an Anchor Light on the 26M

Russ, I had the same experience hitting stuff in the ceiling. Places that looked like they should be a straight shot sometimes had stuff in the way. I just kept trying different routes until I found one that gave me a (reasonably) straight pull for the wire I was running. Sometimes it involved pull...
