Hi there,
How's life in Cairns? I still pass through regularly on my way to other places. In fact another visit beginning this Sunday. Have you managed to get out for a sail yet?
Cheers

Re: Whisker pole mounting for an "M"
I made mine out of a broom handle, coat of varnish and a couple of good clips either end....works a treat.

Re: Anchor Stowage
Thanks for all the replies. Sounds like the crew will be driving the boat while I take care of the retrieval.

Re: Anchor Stowage
Has anyone out there installed an electric anchor winch? The crew are about to mutiny. It's been a while since I have had to flog anyone and would prefer not to resort to this method of compliance...

Re: Chartplotters
I have taken note of mastreb's post on the mods page and am interested in looking at the the iPad option. I have an old Garmin GPS and sounder with a black and white screen but no charts. Use conventional charts.

Chartplotters
I'm considering installing a chartplotter. Any suggestions? Is anyone going to be cruising South Stradbroke area during the Xmas- New Year break?

Re: Rub Rail
How long did it take? Any hints? I've looked at a lot of the previous posts. It seems like quite a task....

Re: Halyards back to cockpit - 26M- Rotating Mast
I attached blocks with cam cleat direct to mast. I have to return the mast to it's fixed position to lower the gib. Hasn't concerned me that much as I don't rotate the mast in heavy weather.

Rub Rail
I need to replace the rub rail on my Mac. I found one in Blue Water Yachts for $75 U.S. (50 ft) Has anyone imported one and are they suitable? Cheers Ray

Re: Cairns Mac owners
Nice to see you made it to Cairns. I travel there a lot and haven't seen any Macs. Maybe we can catch up to "splice the yardarm."

Re: Anchor Stowage
I've ordered the bracket from West Marine. Seems the best option until I find the energy and funds to install a windlass. Thanks for all the help.
