Re: Suwannee River Trip by my wife

Richard,

Thanks for this thread.

Here, in the cold Northeast, I am enjoying being on the water vicariously through Jill’s trip.

The low tonight is 25F (-3.88C).

I have no idea what Kevin is going to say; his experience is far greater than mine, but on lacquer, I have finished with 1000 grit, and then 2000 grit.

Re: Will a Macgregor 26C be a good fit for me?

On the M, S and D, there just isn't a good way for 5 adults to sleep properly. If the statement was addressing six adults, I would agree, but as to five, an :macm: is fine. The Admiral and I sleep in the aft berth. the dinette also drops to become a single berth, and ONE adult can sleep in the V be...

Re: Inqism-06: New Cushions

Would anyone here have an :macm: with a 150% Genoa on a fuller? Do you have the Sunbrella trim that when rolled up it keeps the sail protected? Do you have the width of those two strips on the leach and foot? That's my other big sewing project. Right now Nice Aft is under a tarp, and tonight's weat...

Re: Cockpit Cushions - Again

303 is amazing stuff
Along with protection on the cockpit cushions, I use it to protect the Sunbrella upholstery on our patio furniture. It is a quality product.

Re: Will a Macgregor 26C be a good fit for me?

trying to get a feel for the size, but that is very deceiving, looks like more room than there is. Roger MacGregor was very good at marketing. His use of a W I D E angle lens is now obvious to you. He also showed in his brochures a Ford Taurus towing an :macx: , and later, towing an :macm: I'm pret...

Re: Electric Motors (was split from “Best sailing speed” thread)

Getting back to the electric motor thread. I have no knowledge of electric motors as an outboard, or for that matter, electric motors for anything, so, one of our electrical engineers needs to say if this, or something similar, could be used in an emergency if the battery dies? I’m sure, someone oth...

Re: Lighting protection

Chip, First off, welcome. Did your research include doing a search on this site? If not, go to the search area (upper right side of page), and type in lightning. You will get a wealth of information. To put it in a nutshell, nothing works. Pray you never get hit. The best lightning plan is not to be...
