Bill,

Sorry to read of what you went through, and so glad it was not so much worse. Now, let’s hope Milton is kinder.

Re: Sails/Spare Parts for Sale

Blue Water Yachts has been a dependable source for MacGregor owners. It is unusual for there to be a lack of communication. With the time difference between New Zealand and the west coast of the U.S., were your phone attempts during their working hours and the days they are open? I’m just trying to ...

Re: Comfort onboard

Having never been in a 26S, what kind of chair works down there? Do you need a chair with legs or lays flat on the sole? Which would you be able to work on? Give us something to make intelligent suggestions. Photos?

As you are aware, heat rises. Locate higher instead of lower.

Re: Troubleshooting a rounding-up problem

You did not mention the thickness of the screws. Unless I’m imagining things, the expensive one looks to be significantly thicker. I have to believe that increases holding power. I’m not an engineer, but that is my thought. I’m ready to be lambasted by those who know better.

Re: Cabin window conversion to vent?

What Over Easy states about keeping open ports and hatches closed is absolutely true. I ordered the ports from my dealer when we originally bought Nice Aft in 2004. In twenty years we have never had water ingress; even when we forgot to close them before being underway. That includes the time we for...

Re: Cabin window conversion to vent?

On my :macm: I have opening vents, port and starboard. I did not remove any windows. https://i.postimg.cc/bGVt6139/IMG-0963.jpg The port one is above the sliding galley. The starboard one is directly opposite. https://i.postimg.cc/5j4wxNFz/IMG-1509.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/q6vnQjdw/IMG-3670.jpg I ha...

I believe the long black line indicating the water line is what you are describing as a Plimsoll line. Are you sure that is the correct nomenclature :?: https://www.researchgate.net/figure/The-plimsoll-line-Source_fig18_313506430 I just call it the waterline  :D Can’t you just paint it pink, o...

Eloquently put. Well said. The next time anyone questions my Mac, I’m going to say, talk to Ix.

Re: How long to rig and de-rig D, X or M?

Don't feel bad. It took me a couple of years to realize it was inefficient to take the MRS and the baby stays off. BTW: with the baby stays attached you can roll the mast all the way to the stern and they will hold it there on the support if you need to untangle something (like the backstay wrapped...
