Depending on the state and locale they generally last longer than 15 years…. I’ve only had one and she’s still going good after 24 + years…. 8)

Re: ARGO Channel Marker Article

When I was regularly sailing the Delaware River north of Philly, I had a scary event while sailing outside of the channel markers; that was the last time I did.

ARGO Channel Marker Article

Article in Argo about when, and when not to follow channel markers. As always, common sense is important. The Art of Following the Channel and the Science of Leaving It When to Stay in the Channel - Inlets, rivers, and shoal-prone areas. In coastal cruising, good seamanship means knowing when to fol...

Re: Is Full Throttle BAD For Outboards?

Full throttle at short spurts is fine. When I was having 40 & 50 miles between marinas, I kept the speed to 7 ~ 7.5 knots. If I got bored, I would run crease to 8.7 knots for awhile, then back to 7.5.

P.S. Sunshinecoasting’s post reminded me to post I have a four stroke.

Re: Caught in a New Mexico Storm!

I don’t know how open your lake is. I had this happen to me on Lake George, NY (I saw it coming and lowered all sails). Under power, I unsuccessfully tried to out race the storm. I pulled behind an island and dropped anchor with 200 foot of rode. I also have 30 foot of chain. We sat in the cabin wit...

Re: What under the M cabin sole?

Kurz, When looking at the schematics, I don’t see any indication of sand. Diametrically opposite is storage space. It seems to me that a weighted starboard side would have an equal weight in the port side. Have you looked in that area and have seen this for yourself? https://i.postimg.cc/fJfnW5fd/IM...

Re: Shelf Mounting - 26M

Epoxy can work well; flexibility is important, there is a lot of flexing on boats

5200 is permanent. 4200 can be removed if changes are desired.

Re: What under the M cabin sole?

Open the covers that expose storage in the bilge. There it’s not enough room to be of any significance. You definitely don’t want to have any pressure placed on the ballast tank. Our resource area does not show the inside front covers for the Mac brochures. This is for the 2003 :macm: . If you enlar...

Re: Shelf Mounting - 26M

Can you post some photos of this shelf? Mostly to see what the back looks like.

What I’m wondering is if after lightly sanding the liner for adhesion, you 5200 a thin strip of wood to the liner, and then screw the shelf onto that.
