Re: Does anyone own the Mac Roller Furler
The key thing is that the CDI furler is flexible and being a trailerable boat you really need that. There are not many choices when it comes to flexible furlers (at least not the last time I checked). The thing about the furler is it is relatively heavy. Maybe weight awkward is a better way to put i...

Yes, I am coming from Long Beach (Alamitos Bay). I will probably motor over Saturday morning and sail back Sunday.

Re: 2 Harbors this weekend July 18th
They (Two Harbors Harbor Master) are telling me you can not make a reservation on the string line for Saturday night unless you also make a reservation for Friday night. But if you make a reservation for both nights and you do not show up Friday night, you will loose your reservation for both nights...

Shroud Tension
For any of you 26X people tht have replaced the shroud slider thingies (whatever they are called) with turnbuckles, what level of tension do you typically keep on the upper and lower shrouds (according to a loss gauge)?

Re: how to contact the suppler
Skip the boom vang and order a ridgid vang (gahreeeerr or however it is spelled). Assuming nothing has changed, you'll spend a few more bucks but but will have a far superior piece of hardware.

Re: Looking for a leak
I've been looking for the source of my leak since the summer of 2000, good luck! The hole in the pedestal is meant to be open (there is no plug for it). It's usually used to run throttle/steering cables back to the motor. I've got mine stuffed with other wiring too (autopilot, gps, etc). There shoul...

Hadn't though too much about achorages at the islands. I think we stayed at Scorpion and Prisioners (Santa Cruz) two years ago. I think there was some talk about seeing one or two of the bigger caves on Santa Cruz this trip. I think Painted Cave is the biggest and/or most popular. But I think it's o...

I know that when diving in salt water I need about 5 more lbs of weight then I would in fresh water to offset the incresed boyancy of the salt. So would that also mean a gallon of salt water is heavier then a gallon of fresh water? I don't think I'd sacrafice the weight to avoid a stinky tank. Espec...

The link didn't work for me (wans't granting me acess or something... In any case if it's not the CDI furler, then what is it. I don't think there are too many flexible furlers on the market and the one or two others I've seen are considerably more expensive... In any case I have a shacke (or two) a...

Well, a couple days away and it's so quiet... I'll be leaving Friday morning so tomarrow is the last day I'll be able to check the board. As of now I'm really not sure who or how many boats are still planning to make it. But then all I've told anyone that has asked was to be in SB on Sunday if you w...

What day will you be at 2 Harbors, Catalina? We will bring the boat over to Catalina. If all goes well, we should be arriving at Catalina on Thursday, July 14th. Although I don't think it was decided to go to two harbors, I would imagine by then a mooring, resturant, and hot shower will sound good ...
