Ladder
I use a gunwale ladder over the side. It allows me to get on the boat from a lift and is my preferred way to get in and out of the water. Works great and cost $50.

I tried a simple method. A double block attached where the vang attaches to the mast. The main halyard ran through one side with a take down line through the other. Using the winch, I had little trouble getting the main up even in 20 mph wind. Getting it down went smoothly too. At least something we...

Stupid Boat Tricks
Motoring back in on my second time on my Mac, I managed to forget to raise the dagger board. As the speed increased and ballast was let out, the boat started yawing wildly. This went on for about 5 minutes until the idiot light went on. The bit in the owwners manual about nor motoring above 6kts wit...

Questions and Comments
This is an awesome site. I've gotten great advice on boat name placement and detailed instructions on changinf lower unit lube. My favorite place to browze. Boat has finally gone through its pre-commisioning process and is sitting at my dock at my house waiting for the weekend. First time out in in ...

Thanks all
Instructions were exact and accurate. Lube oil successfully changed. It was a real mess, but sufficient rags were on hand as I got the crap all over me.
This is a GREAT website.
Thanks agian,
Dave

Honda 50 Maintenance
I have a 2004 Honda BFA 50 and want to change the lower unit lube. The engine owners manual has no instructions on how to do this beyond "recommend this be done by a certified mechanic". This seems a bit on the stupid side. Any instructions would be more than welcome. If I can ever get any...

Name Placement
Thanks all. Good pics and definitive guidance. I'll try not to screw it up. I'm new to this site and I have to say that it is a great one. Helpful hints, an occasional threat and good humor.
Hopefully see folks out on the James/lower Chesapeake in a few weeks.

Name Placement
Just bought a used 2004 with the blue hull. I plan on naming the boat 'Drakkar' (Norse for dragon - long ship) and am wondering where others have put boat names (the stern sure ain't going to work)? Pics and suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks
