Thanks Jimmyt. I will post photos after I complete the work. Happy sails!

Portland Oregon area members?
Hello fellow Mac owners. I have returned to this forum after being absent since 2006 when I had to sell the 26X. I only got the sails up on it twice before life events forced the sale after a very brief ownership. Now after all these years I just acquired a 2009 26M which I am currently making seawo...

Question on upper and lower shroud bolts...tight or loose?
I'm getting the X ready for it's first sail and noticed that the bolts on all the shrouds are only tightened to the point where they still allow the shroud tabs to move. Is this okay?
Thanks,
Dave
Thanks,
Dave

I pulled mine at the end of last season and thought they were epoxied in too! I had some corrosion that made them very hard to get off. I had to spray some penetrating fluid on the joints and work them back and forth to get them out. Once they were out I saw they were bent. I'll be putting new ones ...

Piratecliff, I've been to Canada several times with our dogs. They need to see vacination paperwork. Rabies shots must be current. They might ask you a few questions about the dogs (Are you selling/leaving them in Canada?). Typically if you have the paperwork ready for them when you hand them your p...

Need Height Measurement: 98 X on Trailer with mast in crutch
I searched the archives and found many threads on mast height to clear bridges, but did not see any relating to height while in the crutch. I just bought 2 of the portable garages from harbor freight since they are currently on sale for $159 (thats $120 off regular price). I'm planning on adding som...

Nemo, Where is your Raymarine DS 400 wired into? It has the capability to display battery power level on screen. I wired mine into starter battery so I could monitor charging and discharging voltages. I know many of you do not think this is a good idea, but my X has three house batteries and the abi...

Don and/or Rick, I've had my X out on the Columbia mast-less three times now this past week and am ready to rig it up and try my hand at sailing. Would either of you guys be interested in joining me the first time out for some personal sailing instruction? Let me know if you're interested. Thanks, D...

Empty Ballast Question...leaks???
Spent 9 hours in the water today motoring and pulling kids on the tube (no ballast). Back at the boat ramp I opened the valve just to see if I had any water in the ballast tank and about 5 gallons emptied. Is this normal seepage from the valve (1998) or should I be searching for a leak somewhere els...

Harvey, Welcome and congrads. You might want to contact Nemo in the Portland area. He completed an ASA class this spring and could give you additional info. I also bought my 98 X this year down in California and hauled it back from the bay area. It seems to me that they run a few thousand less than ...
