I keep a permanent grab line that runs from the bow to the stern
on both sides of the boat. It would work great for a man overboard
also.

Hull color

I always buy white cars because of low maintenance. My 2005M also
is white for the same reason. White always holds up better over time.

Billy I live in Lexington but sail out of Oriental. Will Scott has been down and sailed with me twice. He and his wife are coming down to sail me again this summer. He is a great guy in my book and has turned out to be a good friend to boot. If I ever had a problem I know he would take care of it. T...

I bought my boat from Scott's Yachts in Wilmington, NC. I was well pleased with the finish detail and condition of the boat. He had done a perfect job of installing the many mod's I had requested. He is a retired Engineer from GE and is a super person and I would recommend him highly. My boat is a 2...

:macm: I haven't tried it myself yet but I read somewhere that you can put an 8 inch funnel (with the botton facing the stern of the Mac) about a dingy length in front of the dingy. You put a knot in front and in back of the funnel to keep it in place. This is supposed to keep the dingy from slammin...

What I did was install a Boweye thru the cockpit floor under the wheel.
I then use a motorcycle handlebar strap and a bungee hooked to the
boweye to keep on course while making other adjustments. The motorcycle strap keeps the bungee from scaring the wheel cover. Simple
but effective.

:macm: I just recently purchased a 2005M white hull. So far I am totally pleased. My wife and I are avid fisherman and like the fact that the M does not have a backstay to contend with when you hook one. I also like the feel of a sailboat hull. To me the X feels more like a powerboat. My wife didn't...

:macm: Duane I plan on doing the same thing you are doing. I keep my boat in a Morton Bdg that has a 14 foot eve height so I am going to just suspend the mast and rigging from the rafters. If I want to sail I can just lower it back on the boat in a few minutes. My wife and I are avid fisherman and f...

Honda 2hp fuel adapter

:macm: I have a 2hp Honda engine that I use on my dingy. It does not have an adapter that allows me to hook it up to an external tank. Does anyone know whether it can be added to this engine?

Thanks

Which pilican hooks did you order from Sailnet? They have
a bunch to pick from.

Thanks

:macm: I learned a long time ago that the best product to keep and polish out scratches on plastic windows is Pledge (not the lemon one but the regular one). I used it all the time on my airplane windshield.

New 2005 M Owner

I just took delivery of my new 2005 M. The dealer took me out to help with the first sail. I have to say I was truly impressed with how she sailed. I will have to get used to steping the Mast and rigging the sails as I have a huge tendency to get impatient with this kind of thing. I plan on taking h...

Stove top cooking

My stove is a single burner "coleman matchlight" propane unit. I paid $18.95 for it at Wallmart. She cranks out 10,000 BTU's. I cut a 6 1/2" hole in a cutting board and mounted the stove on it. I then cut a hole in the counter top and mounted the cutting board to the counter top with ...

Points of sail settings

I am in the process of purchasing a 2005M. I am supposed to take delivery on June 23. I am wondering if some of you M sailors would share with others the rudder and dagger board settings for the different points of sail? It would be a great help to me and others to get the most out of our boats. Tha...

Boat Bums

There is a big different between
a "Boat Bum" and a "Boat Person". In another life I could have been a "Boat Person" and loved it! We all make choices
and have to live with them.
