Seems as if us M owners use the same 'spot' a lot also - above the ladder, clipped horizontally, just inside the cockpit door. I think a boat hook is a valuable tool, particuarly when docking as it gives you a much longer reach and it is something to push off with if necessary.

Sloop John B, I am so sorry for your loss. My sweetheart and I are in our mid-50's and my parents are in their early 80's (Dad was recently fitted with a Pacemaker) - Karen's the only one left of her family (gone are two brothers and both parents, too soon). We are increasingly aware of how short a ...

On edit:
Well, duh, those are throttles with trim controls.
But explore that link (the Honda site) for steering linkage kits, etc.

Well, great Rob, sounds like you had a splendid time. I'd love to sail up around Bamfield (and visit western Canada). Maybe someday.

ICW, Florida

Down here, on the IntraCoastal Waterway, from Titusville, to Melbourne and on the Banana River, Cape Canaveral to Melbourne Beach we have traffic ranging from FPL barges, to large (50'+) yachts and down to jet skis and smaller boats like the Mac. We don NOT have freighters and the like-the 'ditch' i...

Lyrics

Bamfield's John Vanden I come from the mud and the wind and the wet From as far to the west as a man can get And I worked those waters for all my years And I caught my share of triumph and tears Ah the ocean's the source of my hopes and fears Kept an eye on the jigger pole and on the gaff And a smil...

Bamfield

Hmmmm. . .Bamfield. Have you heard of a West Coast Canadian Band called the Bills? (formerly The Bill Hilly Band). They have played at the Gamble Rogers Folk Festival in St. Augustine for the past few years and they are phenomenal-absolutely amazingly talented musicians. They do an a capella song ca...

Well, I don't have a clue at this point where I would put in. My fantasy is to motorsail up the coast from Port Canaveral, turn into Jacksonville and then head south down the St. Johns. Maybe someday.

well

The St. Johns runs north from Central Florida and the mouth is at Jacksonville, Florida - there are many lakes 'on' the river which flooded quite extensively this Fall due to hurricane rains. I have yet to get my Mac on the St. Johns River but hope to do so ASAP.

Now that's what I call stepping up to the plate! I have already bookmarked this web site and when the OEM sails need replacement, I'll do some serious shopping. Thanks for the update and info, Mr. Buck.
