Re: Rudder bracket replacement
Just wondering in the new brackets are thicker than the old ones. :?: And yes those 8 rudder bolts make me think I should get 4 vise grips :D instead of going up and down the ladder 8 times. This season I was able to use the little I have learned in FreeCad and 3D printing to try to upgrade the brac...

Re: A New Journey Begins for OverEasy - 2023/2025
Good call replacing the Teleflex cables. I remember thinking I should change those cables they felt stiffer than before. Only to have one break right after refueling in St.Thomas leaving me drifting in a marina
luckily someone was passing by in a dinghy and pulled me to a dock.

Re: Upgraded blue water rudder brackets?
Ok, so the ones marked “new” are the upgraded ones from BW? Well “new” was when the picture (2017 maybe) was taken BWY didn’t have the thicker brackets. I remember emailing pictures of how much the new ones had bent. I didn’t realize they were thinner when I replaced them. After that they had the t...

Re: Request tech and electronics
Boat Trip 8) As far as I know Erpirb activates manually or by sinking . Maybe an inReach or Spot can let people follow you at all times and you will be able to send/receive text and emails. With a Starlink you’ll be connected to the web always and be able call in with WhatsApp. Not sure if they...

Re: SailTimer Wind Instrument & Apps
Just received my SailTimer a week ago I had brought the SailLink last year but the SailTimer had a month or more wait. So just happened to check last week and when I saw it was available and on sale too I ordered one. Unable to wait to get to the boat I put it on the roof :D for testing. Downloaded ...

Re: Lithium Battery Upgrade
 Tried again running the ice maker today after retightening the wiring no over load alarms. Canceled the 800 watt mainly because it is much larger than the 500 Watt. I had ordered a Induction one burner cooktop. Operator manual stated uses 400 watts on lowest setting. And 1200 watts on high. ...

Re: Lithium Battery Upgrade
Tested (200 watts) ice maker today seems the starting inrush current was a too much for the 500 watt inverter. About 7 to 8 amps @ 120 volts AC. Got overload alarms.
Ordered a 800 watt Victron today.

Re: 26X Electrical. And Raymarine Upgrades
Yes right Bill instead of the combiner an Victron Agrofet battery isolator would have been a better choice. Since the house and start can be charged with engine and the charge profiles are close enough. Combiners and ACR's will tend to cycle on/off when house is low and too many amps will try to go ...
