Re: Lithium Battery Upgrade

 Tried again running the ice maker today after retightening the wiring no over load alarms. Canceled the 800 watt mainly because it is much larger than the 500 Watt. I had ordered a Induction one burner cooktop. Operator manual stated uses 400 watts on lowest setting. And 1200 watts on high. ...

Re: Lithium Battery Upgrade

Tested (200 watts) ice maker today seems the starting inrush current was a too much for the 500 watt inverter. About 7 to 8 amps @ 120 volts AC. Got overload alarms.
Ordered a 800 watt Victron today. :P

Re: 26X Electrical. And Raymarine Upgrades

Yes right Bill instead of the combiner an Victron Agrofet battery isolator would have been a better choice. Since the house and start can be charged with engine and the charge profiles are close enough. Combiners and ACR's will tend to cycle on/off when house is low and too many amps will try to go ...

26X Electrical. And Raymarine Upgrades

So... an friend sold his 26X and I met the new owner he asked me what Chart plotter and autopilot to get and I advised to go with a Raymarine Wheel Pilot and Chart Plotter. After a few calls and messages later I asked if he needed some help with the installation. Well when I went and to see how was ...

Lagun Table Leg

On my 2004 26M :macm: the galley is fixed and the table has always been in the way. When in place to go forward or to get something out of the galley was a pain. So watching Sail Life on YouTube years ago he had installed one on his old boat. While in California over Xmas I ordered one, on sale and ...

Re: Solar install - Check my work?

How would I avoid B2b with 400? Just because I wouldn’t need the energy from the alternator? There will be a fridge. It pulls 4.8 amps on high and can run on DC tho On my last trip I messed up the stator when replacing the timing belt. :o Engine not charging. :? The solar 320 watts kept the engine ...

Re: Solar install - Check my work?

I agree a dedicated start battery is the way to go. And a battery to battery charger will be the best option when charging from engine. But with 400 watts of solar you may be able to get by without the DC to DC charger (B2B). Will you be running a fridge? A battery monitor will be helpful too. I rea...

Re: Anyone Fitted an Air Head Composting Toilet to an M26?

Just wondering, the photo of the Air Head, is that ahead of the raised platform or did you cut out the platform to make the floor flat? The 2004 26M is a little different from other years. No sliding galley, wood under main cabin floor etc. The raised platform in the head is only about 6 inches wid...
