Do you have an audible buzzer for the overheat alarm? The Nissan/Tohatsu carb 50s have a problem with faulty overheat sensors. It's been mentioned here and on many other boards. Mine (bought used) used to do that all the time when I pushed it to wide open throttle for more than 5 minutes...the overh...

Sonic AntiFouling? Anyone with experience?

http://www.barnaclean.com/ http://205.223.179.81/leaanna/ReDoCS/barnaclean.htm I've been looking at these systems as I keep my 26X in the water year round in S Florida. From Google searches, they seem to work well at keeping hard marine growth off the hull, but not the grasses. But the green stuff i...

Did you have the centerboard down while approaching and docking?

In any kind of wind, it is a requirement to have it down for docking, in my opinion.

What does everyone recommend for topsides?

Are any of these treatments "slippery"?

I don't want to make any of the standing surfaces slippery.

The difficulty, I think, with the Lancers is that, under power above 15 mph, the rudder and keel (maybe not the shoal keel) would act as powerful lifting or diving devices in the water. Could be very squirrely and dangerous at speed, as the rudder and keel could drive the boat under on a fast turn. ...

I live halfway between Miami and Ft Lauderdale on the intracoastal. My power was restored on Tuesday night, but internet (Comcast cable) was not restored until late last night. Left my 26X in the water in the canal right outside my condo. I had lowered the mast onto the holder, secured everything we...

I got my Ifinder H2O two days ago by UPS. Tried it in the SUV, seems to work great. In the vehicle, it kept locked onto the satellites even when put on the seat as well as into the tray between the two front seats. Very good reception (I had read a review that the Lowrance iFinder units have the bes...

Robert,

Please keep up the info about the DirectHits.

I would love to get a little more power at WOT, and cruising speeds, and some better mpg on my '97 Tohatsu 50hp by changing only three plugs.

It would be nice if I can get the performance of a 60hp or so from it with only a small investment.

I carry a piece of heavy 1" pipe in my SUV that can slip over the end of the lug wrench to add enormous leverage to tighten or loosen lugs nuts.

It's a quick easy solution.

Hope this helps.

Also, just noticed that Lowrance has a new software package called Nauticpath, for $99 list (see it discounted to $79 on some websites) with COMPLETE US detailed charts for all US coastline, Great Lakes, and the Bahamas. It all comes loaded on a SD/MMC card, plug and play, no activation codes, etc. ...
