Why not look at Kelly Hansen sails, etc. I purchased a new mainsail, chradle cover and lazy jack system at an overall cost of about US$1,500, postage included. Service was good.

Re: Sail on MacGregoor 26M
Hi Curtis,
Really appreciate your offer. I will be at a sales meeting early in March, but plan to be there a bit earlier to get over the jetlag.
I will contact you closer to the date to see if we can arrange the sail. Once again thank you.

Re: Sail on MacGregoor 26M
It is amazing how the trailer sailing community is always willing to help. The same applies in OZ, always willing to take someone for a sail. On that point, I might be having the same request as I will be in Carlsbad on the 27th and 28th of February and would love to go out as well, if somebody woul...

Re: Rubber Rub Strip Repair
Hi John,
Ooops.
My marine technician tried to repair a small section of my rub strip (100mm) and was not able to do it unless repalcing the whole lot. He put some aluminium sections over it and did the same on the other side of the boat to make it look the same. Looks pretty good now.

Re: MacGregor Owners Association
Need to bring this to the fore again. The group is slowly taking off, but we need more members. The banking details have been sorted out and maybe it is time to try and arrange a get together again. As most members are based in Melbourne at this stage we could organise something over the Christmas b...

Hi Kevin,
If John is willing to give a go, I might do the same.
I am still no hero.

Re: BEST SOURCE FOR MAC PARTS/HARDWARE/SAILS
I purchased the C2000 mainsail and sailcover / lazy jack from KHY. The sail arrived in OZ in about a week, but still waiting for the sailcover / lazy jack, due to the loft being very busy and holidays. (It could be here now as they promised to send it via DHL, rather than snail mail and I am not at ...

Re: Still looking to buy a Mac
We have our radio/cd/mp3 player above the mirror, additional speakers in the cockpit with kill switch (so we can switch the outdoor speakers off)and a remote control unit.
All nice and easy.

Re: Still looking to buy a Mac
Geez, Bob and Glenn, I am surprised the boats still float. I have a 40W dolar panel mounted on the back of mast carrier, several water bladders, electric water pump, lots of additional storage racks, several 12v outlets around the boat, dual battery system, combiner to assist the battery charging, V...

Re: Still looking to buy a Mac
With the OZ dollar climbing it seems questions are asked everywhere. This my response on the TSP site about importing a boat from the USA. The price quoted was for a new Mac. The price is correct, but is a very basic boat and no warranty. Spend a lot more on extras to make it comfortable, with many ...

Re: Nissan Pathfinder as a tow vehicle.
Hi John, I am towing mine with a Toyota Kluger at 2000Kg with no problems. Just uses a fair bit of petrol. Will upgrade in November to the latest Prado Diesel to be on the safe side. It is all the extras we are putting in that worries me in particular with the planning of long trips in a few tears t...

Re: Still looking to buy a Mac
I purchased mine second hand and from start to finish the process was about 5 months. This was from the moment when we decided which boat to buy to the front door. That included a seaworthiness test, waiting weeks for a container, i.e boat to become available, delays on docking the container ship, c...
