Re: A New Journey Begins for OverEasy

Congrats on the boat and new adventures. We have camped on ours as well found the fiberglass buys more time in the AM before it gets too hot. My brother was bailing out of the tent at 730am while we were comfortable well towards 9am. There is a good vehicle conversation in the trailering thread so w...

Re: Are there Lake Powell People on this Site?

I had to cancel my trip because of COVID quarantine restrictions in New Mexico. Looking forward to a trip next year somewhere-- Powell is still high on the list. By then I may even have a Snark to play with --- sailing when I'm not sailing.

Can't wait to see the photos. I dream of dragging my better half down some of those rivers and canals doing similar lounging.

Re: Vertical Thermocline?

I saw a similar line when I took a sailing class at Saint Andrew Bay Florida-- we popped out into the Gulf of Mexico and there was a distinct line between the fresh and sea water.

Re: Are there Lake Powell People on this Site?

I was supposed to arrive at Lake Powell last night. Unfortunately the Governor put in a 14 day quarantine requirement if you go out of state so that would mean taking 3 weeks off of work. So now sitting around the house for vacation but trying to figure out how I can "fake" raise my sail in my garag...

Re: Lake Chelan to Stehekin

That would be a great place to have a Mac Round-up. Every time I think I have google earthed every lake in the country I hear about another one like this. I also like that it is long and skinny with a few stops along the way-- it would be a great week to spend there. The pictures are great-- I love ...

Sounds like it was a nice trip. How did your truck/trailer logistics go? Did you use a marina and just pay for the parking?

Re: is this forum for "trailers & towing" only or can we talk about tow vehicles?

Update on the 2018 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel. Did a 1192 mile test towing a 1800 pound uHaul trailer. 15.5 MPG on a running AVG of 55MPH (according to the computer). I set the CC to 78 MPH on Interstates. The Diesel definitely reduced the driver fatigue by knocking the tops of some of the medium/small hill...

Re: Are there Lake Powell People on this Site?

I booked a slip for ~$39 at Bullfrog marina labor day showing up Thurs night Sep 3 (hotel is $150-200 a night). Cavoite is that Bullfrog is mid-lake and I have at least 2 brothers showing up but they have ski boats, 1 has a house boat share as well so we have different experiences planned each day :...

Re: BBQ options

I have the original (small) Magma kettle gas grill with a mounting rod I put on the rail. I also have the extension rod, which helps, as there's no good place to put it in a Mac power sailor. But I do store it below decks, upright in a compartment under the v-berth. One-pound gas bottles next to th...

Re: Ok to epoxy parts to fiberglass hull?

Sounds like a good plan. An extra benefit was the caulk absorbed vibration and if I want, I can use a knife to remove it. That is a good point. I might do that instead. It will be in an Inspectable location so to reduce the permanency slightly would probably be a good thing if I ever wanted to swit...
