Re: Onboard shoes

I got a pair of Sperrys that I used in sailing class and on a rental boat. They were comfortable and non-slip. When I started looking for non-marking I tried a set but they were not rubber based so were a major slip hazard. Non-marking and rubber is the way to go. On my Mac i tend to wear the water ...

Re: Any one heading for the Seattle Boat Show?

Sounds like a great time. I suppose a great way to make an IP seem affordable is to immediately look at a 13.5 million dollar yacht :!: :D
I have spent many hours trolling IPs for sale on yacht world.

Re: Wheel Brake

I have that on my boat and I always thought it might be broken because it would not lock the wheel. Now that I am hearing that it is a friction only and not a full lock it makes more sense on how it works. I cannot say that I like it because it takes a lot of tightening just to get it to do a fricti...

Re: Mission bay to San Diego bay and back in a day.

It's amazing to me that the sailors that are land locked in the middle of the southwest (guys like you and sumner and other mac owners I have met from Arizona) are the most adventurous of them all - it's like you guys sail your boats EVERYWHERE except at home where there is no water! I want to see ...

Re: Photos - Summer 2019

Here's my favourite place I visited this summer (so far, still summer here), it is south Moreton Island, Queensland Australia, a place called the big sand hill. My boat is in the middle of the second picture, the water is soooo blue and sand is sooo white, even better than the pictures. https://dri...

Re: Any interest in a Mac burgee for your boat.

I would pay $30 for one if it had a pic of a Mac doing 15 knots with a huge wake behind it. Maybe black, blue and white to represent the primary colors of the flag background. Of course, as everyone knows, the black racing stripes are waaaaay cooler than a blue hull. :D

Re: Photos - Summer 2019

I appreciate everyone sharing. Ours didn't touch water last year so it is nice to see the adventures. I am motivated to get spring chores done early so I can focus on the boat! :macm:

How was the show? That would be a good boondoggle for next year I could plan for.

Re: is this forum for "trailers & towing" only or can we talk about tow vehicles?

I have always had a 4WD. My Dad was a land surveyor in Colorado and had Scouts as company rigs. Most of them no tops or doors so I think it's ingrained in me. The boat ramps we have are largely slime-free so I don't think you need it as a must have however if you want to stray off the main roads and...

Do you have the part number or source link for these? I could see doing the 17 gallon on one side then the two sixes on the other side to allow for flexibility on how much gas you keep on board.

Re: is this forum for "trailers & towing" only or can we talk about tow vehicles?

Thank you both. I am still analyzing. The flat tow capability is huge for flexibility between being the “Tow-er” and the “Toad”. The truck is pretty stable with the :macm: behind it. Sounds like both of you logged some serious miles so I am more comfortable judging that towed behavior won’t be an is...

Re: is this forum for "trailers & towing" only or can we talk about tow vehicles?

Resurrecting an old thread on vehicles with a Tow-Beast report on our new Pathfinder...it's been a year and several road trips. The Pathfinder is far from being a beast, or a truck, but for us it is the perfect tow vehicle: 7 passengers 2-wheel drive for highway All-wheel drive for launching 4-whee...
