Re: Advice on fuel system / water separator racor

/Users/warwickfinlay/Desktop/IMG_3871.JPG This pic may answer the questions regarding fuel bulb placement. Hopefully the pic can be viewed. :macx: I recently installed the three way fuel valve in order to avoid "hot swapping" mid cruise. It works well. Attachment to the hull is by the ever reliable ...

Re: Advice on fuel system / water separator racor

That's how I have it with a 60hp Merc. I never need to prime as the EFI draws the fuel.
I use 2 tanks and regularly do a "hot" swap (quickly) without incident. That said, my current project is to install a three-way fuel cock in the system.

Re: Adding Solar

I mounted an 80 watt solar panel on the hatch :macx: and ran the cables down through the stainless steel grab/support tube which goes from the ceiling to the galley. I bolted and sealed a small alloy "jiffy" box above the tube, on the deck, mounted two water proof compression unions (in the side of ...

Re: Pedestal side panels

I've reattached my starboard pedestal cover with countersink screws and rivnuts, while the port side is simply bolted through with nuts and washers. Rivnuting is one of my favourite techniques when attaching devices to :macx: The tool kit cost about $90 AUS and is a unit which keeps on giving. Just ...

Re: Smartphone for navigation?

I use Navionics on my iPad with a DUAL GPS receiver. The tablet is mounted on an off-the-shelf support and powered via a USB socket fixed to the console. Go to Settings/General/Auto lock~Never to avoid unexpected time-out! Daylight viewing is good but quite bright in darkness despite max screen dimm...

Re: Dyneema standing rigging

Two years and two boats back (17ft t/s) I replaced the stainless steel, standing rigging with Dyneema with great success. There have been no reports of deterioration and I will do likewise on my X when necessary. :macx:

Re: Seen in OZ...

I suggest you contact Sunshine Boat Sales regarding XV937Q or make enquiries at the Newport marina.
AFA677N has been on the "hard" for some time at Moreton Bay Boat Club. Check with the office and they may put you in touch with the owner.
My X is on the water permanently at MBBC. :macx:
