I had cushions made for me by a local upholsterer. I made templates of the seating in my M and took them to an upholsterer. He told me how much fabric would be needed. I wanted to use Sunbrela fabric because of its reputation to standing up to the elements. In order to keep the price down, I used a ...

I have an 2005 M in white. When I was going through the process of deciding whether to go with white or blue, I had the same concerns as you. Coming from Phila. and learning at an early age of ole Ben Franklin's experiments with color fabrics placed on the snow, I went with the white. As someone who...

I tow a 9.5' Achilles LSI inflatable with a 6hp Merc four stroke behind my M. It has an air keel, and an air floor. Very sturdy. I can get up on plane with just my wife and I, but I would purchase the 8hp the next time. The dingy is rated at 8hp. We have traveled up to five miles in it at a shot on ...

I have a GMC Envoy that has never let me down. It has a knob on the dash that allows you to switch from 2wd, to automatic 4wd, or 4wd hi, or 4wd low. It's that easy. I've seen some trucks spinning rubber on ramps that have not posed a problem for us. People do sometimes make comments about checking ...

Guys,

Thanks for all of the info. I finally had a chance to crawl under the tarp, and before frostbite set in, take a look at what you all have been describing. Thanks! I'll have no problem making the repair, and will have a spare ready if there is a next time.

How difficult to replace a spreader??????

My starboard spreader is bent about three inches from the tip. It is still quite cold here, and I have not yet been able to give a good look see at the problem. How difficult is it to replace the starboard spreader?

Any suggestions as to where the best place is to purchase the part?

My M is white. Black stripe on the hull. Black sail boot and black cushions across the cockpit. The boat looks really good! Much classier than the MacGregor price would indicate. Last summer was our first season and I was pleased with the amount of people who came over to compliment me on owning suc...

Johnnyonspot, I have a 2002 Envoy, so a Yukon is more than enough to do the job. The added luxury that a Denali gives is always nice to have. If you do not have a towing package, be sure to have a transmission cooler installed. I had one installed in my Envoy for a little over a hundred bucks. it's ...

Cockpit Cushions

When I had cushions made for my Mac, I elected to not use closed cell foam. (A) I was not going to use the cushions for a life saving device. (B) closed cell foam is very stiff. I wanted comfort. The upholsterer I used is a stink potter who is kind to we folks of the rags. He said he uses non closed...

Annapolis Boat Show

I went to the Annapolis boat show yesterday. If you love sailboats, this is a show you have to see someday. While there I said hi to Otho Campbell from New Millenium Sailboats (I bought my M from him), I then went on to look at what else was there. My heart went burst for a 57 foot Beneteau. My plan...

Going Again

Went to the Philly show last year and very much liked it. This weekend we are going to the Annapolis in water show. That show is great!

At the Philly show last year my wife and I attended a demonstration about sailing maneuvers, docking, line handling, etc. Very informative.

My Tow Vehicle Is An GMC Envoy

I use an Envoy, and have towed my Mac with it 300 miles to upstate NY's Adirondack mountains. The Envoy was reviewed twice by a boating magazine and received their OK. There are those who would rather have a larger tow vehicle. Bigger works fine, but it just isn't needed. The only change I made to t...
