You may get a better reply to this from a more experienced owner, but the standard :macm: battery is a starter battery not a deep cycle it has cranking power not lasting power so looking at those figures I would say it is probably a 24AMP/H with 500 cold cranking Amps basicly a marine version of a c...

Synergy Yachts in Sydney is currently the only authorised Australian :macm: Dealer. But more importantly Sharp Marine (Rodger’s son-in-law) is the exclusive US exporter and they only export to their dealer network. Unlike the UK where a US Macgregor does not met the CE certification, so can only be ...

Sounds like Jack's next mod is going to be a forward looking sonar with an auto-rudderup attachment hooked into the alarm :D I was thinking of using a shear pin linkage in the rudder rope hold down instead of bungie. Getting the right breaking strain might be a bit hit and miss though. Ship wi...

According to boating life mag the reason for the no flush on an e-tec is * A special bypass valve keeps sediment and salt from plugging the thermostat and cooling channels, and that means you'll never need to flush your engine after saltwater use. * Think I will still flush a bit with some fresh tan...

2stroke so you have twice as many combustion cycles, etc. I think the main advantage of a 2S on a Mac is the weight (and cost), but there are also people on this board that have no problem sailing with 430# motors either. There is a reason why 4strokes cost more and they are likely going to last lo...

I was looking at the same thing from biasboating but was wondering how you attach them. Screws could scratch the hull and would glue be strong enough? I was thinking of going for a couple of these as they bolt onto a yoke. http://www.whitworths.com.au/main_itemdetail.asp?cat=138&item=91094&intAbsolu...
