So... I think Ive got this figured out, but I want to be certain.
My new-to-me boat was advertised as a Mac 22. 1980 vintage. The gentleman I bought it from, while a really nice guy, isnt a stickler for details kind of guy. I ordered some parts from BWYachts... and one their website, as well as on the other sites Ive looked at, there is no Mac 22 from 1980.
So, best I can tell, my boat is actually a 1980 Venture 222...???? Right???
It has the pop top cabin thingy (sorry- dont know the actual name), which makes it a 222 vs a 22 to my understanding. In 1980 they didnt make Macgregor 22's... just Venture 22's and 222's... correct???
And fwiw my number is MACG4201M80I
So, I have a 1980 Venture 222 right? Just wanted to clarify. Im not sure how important it all is, but I was curious...

Re: Mac/Venture boat model ID
In 1980 MacGregor made the following models:
So, yes, if yours is 22' long, then it's a Venture 222. Your boat number confirms that it is, indeed, a 1980 model.

I found this to decode MacGregor serial numbers, might be helpful. See attachment.
