New trailer for 26M

Post by Nauti Nell »

I am in the market for a new trailer for my :macm: . I can't find it now but I seem to remember that someone had one built in the Raleigh Durham NC area. I was curious if anyone else may remember who or where it was. I would prefer aluminum dual axle. Our future has a lot of towing in it and I want to be prepared.
I found the link to Gazam's guy in FL but that was for an X, and a 12 hour drive. NC is only five hours.
Thanks for any help in this matter.

Turned out awesome!. Self centering, no sway, 5K lb axle.

26M version from same manufacturer. http://www.macgregorsailors.com/forum/v ... a0d25413ed

Thanks so much for the info!!!!! We will be adding an axle due to the added comfort of being able to limp into a safer place in case of a blowout.

I just confuse about the aluminum dual axle. Can it handle this job for well?

Russ added a second axle to his factory aluminum trailer. I think he's had no problems with it, but I'll let him address that. Whether it's going to be an issue or not, depends on where you live and what type of trailer licensing and inspection you have. In Alabama, trailer modifications are not typically a problem. Other sates (or countries), may not allow home modifications of a trailer. Better check your local requirements before you modify your trailer.
