26 M/X overall length

Interested in getting 26 power sailor, either m or x. I checked with my local marina, the overall length limit is 28ft, otherwise I'd have to go to a 30ft slip.

Question, with an outboard, say a short shaft 60 hp four stroker, what can I expect the total length to be?

Ok, the length is 25" 10" - you don't count the outboard. If you do, add another 18 inches.

You need a long shaft outboard.

18 in. is for long shaft?

They measure from tip to tip, from bow stanchions to outboard skeg

I don’t think that makes a difference, but why not just check with a dealer of whichever motor you wish. Just go with the facts from the manufacturer.

The documented length of the X or M, without bowspirit, anchor roller, rudders or outboard, is 25 ft, 10 inches. I have a 2002 26X with a Suzuki DF60AV, a long shaft outboard as is required for the X or M. This is a typical, average outboard for a 26x. It extends approximately 44 in past the edge of the stern / transom in the fully raised position. This makes for a total length of about 29 feet, 6 inches.
