NewGlass2 - how much do I need?

Post by ccarpediem »

Been reading here about NewGlass2. Sounds really good and would like to give it a shot. I'm just not sure how much I'll need. Assume I want to do the entire boat above the waterline with 4 coats, would one bottle do it? If not how many bottles for say one complete application of 4 coats?

Cheers!

Does anyone on the board have experience with this product, if so what is your opinion on its performance. I was reading the product literature and it comes across being better than applying a good boat wax. Any comments?

Smooth sailing,

Jim :macm:

As follow up in case anyone else is interested, I sent Erik Hardtle a private message on this topic and he said a complete 4 coat application uses about 1/3 of the bottle. So 1 bottle lasts 1 or two years depending how often you reapply.

Cheers!

Hi Tony,

Did Erik say he was happy with it over the last few years. Yellowing? dulling? sticky? etc. There were several complaints in the thread I linked above, but they appear to be referring NewGlass, not NewGlass2 (?)

Just wondering if Erik was still happy with NewGlass2 and still uses it.

Cheers,

Actually I didn't ask how he still liked it, however he said a bottle lasts a year or two and now he just orders a couple at a time to make sure he always has it. So as he still uses it, I can only assume he is happy (at least I hope so as I placed my order last night) :P

You can get it here (http://www.newglass2.com/cgi-bin/cp-app.cgi). It certainly isn't sold in stores here.
