Rigging Adjustments

Post by Greg »

:macx: Duane, you were right on the money about the roller furler adjustment. Like you suggested, I lifted the drum cover and found the turnbuckle unwound out against the cotter keys. I tightened it all the way and replaced the cotter keys with wire to keep the turnbuckle from unwinding( I have been using electric fence wire for a few years.. it's tough and it dosen't corrode). I leveled the deck top and set a 4 foot level up to the mast. At 4 foot I have roughly 3 inches rake, which I believe is roughly 3.5 degrees. I purchased the Loos guage last weekend and now have the upper shroud tension set to 340 and the lower set to 300.

Not sure how to level the boat/trailer using deck surfaces.
It's best to align that 4' level along the bootstripe & adjust the trailer's nose wheel.

:macx: I leveled the flat area under the mast support. The boot stripe on my boat has such a curve to it, I don't know which part to use as a reference. I haven't had the boat in the water yet so I don't know what the stripe will be in reference to the water.
