COST OF ELECTRICAL GEAR

Post by puggsy »

What is going on....I want to buy a 'Blue Seas'' battery charging regulator...[ PN 7600 ] The price in USA is about $78 , quite fair, but they want $139 to post it.
Price of the same unit in Western Australia is $210. Not quite so fair...
So has anyone got a spare...at reasonable cost....Thanks...Puggsy
If one of you kind fellas would like to get me one and send it , I'll happily pay...And could you find out the proper mailing cost of a small package. Appreciate any help.

"Dear Puggsy
We Have the BatteryLink ACR in stock price is $210 freight will be around $16.50"

Also very rude...$16.50 to come 10 miles...

puggsy,

I understand your frustration with shipping costs. I frequently use UPS (United Parcel Service) to send packages to Japan.
Just from curiosity I checked to see the cost of sending a 5 lb. package from San Francisco to Tokyo using UPS.
The cost is $130 ... bummer! :o

Thanks for the feedback...but I thought that highway robbery went out with Ned Kelly. Poor old Ned would not ' keep knit' for these robbers.
How can they justify twice the price for something that costs $78 in USA. Certainly not freight.
The moon will turn to green cheese before I shift the unit off their shelf.
Ebay, here I come....Puggsy

Warranty, Freight, GST and Import duty all ad to the cost.

$8 US postage is local US postage bet it's a lot more to OZ.

If it is less than $25 US it will be coming surface mail 5-10 Weeks delivery. Air courier is normally about $90.

$68.95
$25.00

$93.95 current exchange rate that's about $109 OZ.

Don't get me wrong you can get good bargins from the US I got my GPS from New York. But postage is a killer and you need big savings to make it worth while.

I have been buying my electronic gear from the US for 20 odd years. The savings are getting less and less. These days it's better to source it in Asia if you can. But buyer beware.

I agree with kadet and we have the additional local personnel as well to be counted in and advertising costs, etc.. You can get items cheaper elsewhere, but than they get all upset if it goes wrong and you tell them the warranty is not covered here and I get it quite regularly.
