Hi Capt Kimo,

Those trips sound great to me. Please reply to XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX. I'd like to join you for some trip or other. My schedule is much more crowded than before, but that could sound like business.

Right Kev. Found I had duplicated same on the calendar as I could not see previous submissions earlier. Heath must have paid for the calendar license  . I have removed the duplications.

Hello,

This is my first post on this forum. I live in Las Vegas and have done quite a bit of boating on Lake Mead and Lake Havasu the past few years. My father, who lives in Phoenix, is going to be retiring in June this year, and has been interested in getting a Macgregor sailboat for several years. He is planning on purchasing one in April, however at this time we have only been on one while it was docked, not out on the open water. I was wondering if there was a member either on this forum or part of the Las Vegas Bay Macgregor Association that would be willing to provide a short demonstration sail on a Macgregor sometime in March for my father, me and my wife, preferably a 26M since this is the model they are currently selling. My wife and I have never been on a sailboat, so we do not know what to expect, our only boating experience is on powerboats.

If there is anyone who would be willing to provide such a demonstration sail on Lake Mead, it would really be appreciated. My father is planning on moving to Las Vegas once he is retired, so hopefully we may be able to become members of the Las Vegas Bay Macgregor Association.

Regards,

Kevin Weyandt

Ahoy Kev,

We are planning our annual Mead Madness Sail March 27- April 3, 2009. I and I believe several others will be launching their boats early on Thursday March 26 at Callville Bay Marina to avoid the crowds at the ramp on Friday. Don't recall we have any :macm: in the group, but if we do I will introduce you to the skipper for a demo sail, otherwise you are welcome to come out on that date with me on :macx: "FOREVER". While I plan to be sailing in March, I don't have any specific dates. Pick a date, PM me through this website, and see if we can get together. Check the weather forecast for the wind conditions on the lake on the date you pick in March.

Rich,

Thank you for the link. My father actually sent emails to two people in the association, but has not received a response back yet.

Just a plug for this event. The combination of the Founder's Day Race which occurs on March 27, and the Mead Madness Cruise which follows makes a well rounded double-headed activity that has great appeal across the spectrum of active trailer sailors. It's not just a Mac event but often a mac wins the race and there is plenty of great sailing/learning/fun with a diverse regional group. Kimo does a great job advertising the LVBMA and extending the hand of fellowship to all. If money and time were not factors, attendance would number in the hundreds, and probably douse many of the neat things about it. That said, the more the merrier. It will be nice to have a M or 2 in the mix of boats. :)

I see that this still is not on the calendar. Has it been submitted? If so, I will notify Heath that there may be a problem.

Ahoy Rich,

I have placed the information TWICE on the calendar. Does the notice "warning Thyme's license has expired. You may purchase Thyme at http://www.extrosoft.com" above the calendar have anything to do with the problem. I noticed the same reference when the announcements went down the cyber hole the last time. :?

Thanks for the input Capt. Kimo, I'll huddle with Heath to find out what the problem is. All submitted entries to the Calendar are currently screened by Heath. Perhaps we can work out some way to lighten his load.
