fuse panel

Post by robertw »

This may seem like a stupid question but... I have a 2001 26X and haven't had any electrical problems (yet). I am doing some re-wiring work this winter and was wondering how to remove the fuses from the stock fuse panel? I tried prying them off a bit, but haven't popped anything loose yet. I don't want to break anything. any help would be apprecaited. thanks, bob

Assuming they are the same as on my M, there is a small hole or dimple on the left edge of the square fuse cap. Press slightly with something suitable, a small allen key in my case, and the cap comes off with the fuse.

Now, to show what an unseamanlike lubber I am, why do they make a fuse panel that requires tools to change a fuse? Seems like this could be a dangerous situation fumbling in the dark.

I had the same thoughts....I broke a fuse holder, trying to figure out how to open it. Now its a five gang panel. Switched to a 6 gang panel with breakers.....19 bucks on EBay
