New Macgregor 26x Owner

Post by Dullboy »

Yippeee. Just purchased 2002 26x. The mid 50's couple who were orig. owners had done a couple of minor mods (wood trim contact paper around inside and Nautical curtains. looks nice) and the dealer had done several upgrades when sold new. (Shore power, dual batteries with combiner, roller furler, all lines run aft, dual 12 gallon gas tanks).

The couple had it in a slip at the marina in Nebraska during the season and stored it on trailer for winter. Not sure when the last time it was cleaned though. Pretty dirty. Another great opportunity to use the pressure washer. :) She cleaned up real nice. Were going through the exercise of washing all the seat covers and steam cleaning the foam, etc.

Cant' wait to get her on the water. Perhaps next weekend.

I have been reading the posts here the past month or so and have gleaned a bunch of information from you guys. Thanks a bunch.

Primarily on Lake Grapevine. Probably other Dallas/Fort Worth lakes as well.

Would like to eventually do the Key West/Tortugas and Bahamas/Exumas for 2-3 week stints.

Welcome to the family and congratz on the new boat!

Of all the "extras" I've got for my Mac, I think the most valuable is actually this board 8) So, congrats also on finding this amazing resource, we all look forward to hearing from you!

Good job....I've had my X for a little over two years and I love it. Have done many mods to it....you can check out at http://www.nevillefamily.com/Mac%20Mods ... erpage.htm

If you're good with your hands and like to make things better, you'll invariably end up improving your Mac. I seem to keep thinking of things and have a couple on the drawing board for this winter.

Enjoy your boat and if you're like me, when I pull it out of the slip and it is sitting in my driveway at home I never cease to marvel that I actually OWN that boat!
