My experience is that weight up front is great when motoring fast...but I seem to be bow low when sailing so
Or is my thinking off on this?
But then again, weight up front for trailering is probably a good thing as well...so maybe it would be smart to move the batteries.

I also noticed motoring this summer that with 2 men on the M I gain 1 knot if one of them sits at the tip of the bow

I have seen your video...although I couldn't get it to work this time...very impressive. And your boat is definitely not stock...but it is very nice. And you do have a heavier engine and a taller rig...don't know if that makes a difference.
But seriously, I have seen threads on this topic of bow heavy and my boat also seems to sit a little bow low when I am in a "standard" sailing configuration...at least looking at the pics of my boat. I keep my second anchor under the v-berth and not under the stern berth.
Does being bow low hinder sailing performance or control in any way...is being bow low when sailing a good thing like it is when motoring?
We find our M points to windward better if were a little bow heavy but we have a 110 jib and I find sailing with other M's with a 130 jib I can point 10 to 15 deg's higher and usually beat the other boat into the wind and down wind we use our A-spinnaker and scream ( slide) past the other M's.
Bubba, I hope you are not including me as one of those M's your are "sliding" past. Last couple of times I sailed with you, I was coming back when you were still tuning your banjo. Also I have photos of your boat dragging that big motor in the water. Hope to see both you and Hammin X on lake Wallula soon. I'll match my A sail against yours downwind any time. Actually I was looking for the post by the guy who claims 28 MPH with a 50 horse and both sails up and all boards down
