Wrong keel! Thanks for the thought, JoeVacs, but the V24's/224's have a different keel than the V22/222. Thanks anyway, though. :)

You know, I've wondered whether or not anyone else has tried it yet. I think the two biggest areas for concern would be the placement of the pivot and lock bolt holes and then the overall length. I have copies of drawings for the V222 keel that someone posted a little while back....if I could get drawings for the V224 keel, a quick comparison would tell for sure if the 24's keel could be made to fit the 22. :)

I had considered doing a modified keel that would have have deeper profile and more weight for the Mac22. Just something I was thinking about, but will probably never do unless I have to....found an old Lone Star that is occupying my time at the moment :).....anyway, I don't know why you couldn't buy the appropriate diameter solid round steel stock for a perimeter, weld a couple plates of sheet metal to the sides, fill the resultant hollow with lead or concrete (might add some latex admix to make it waterproof for concrete) and end up with something that would work fine for a keel. Any sheet metal fab place with a plate shear could chop off a couple pieces for the sides, and any steel outlet could provide the solid round stock. I suppose there is also the alternative of just having it flame cut out of a solid chunk of inch and a half or whatever plate, but you'd certainly spend some time with a grinder getting the edges rounded. Heck, save enough on the fab, and you can send it off to be galvanized or chromed. Something shiny down there for Jaws to take a lunge at. HAHA
