Are you planning to arrive on Thursday? About 60=70% are arriving then.

Victor,
Is that pic you posted of Cape Lookout? I've got a rowing inflatable dingy so if I can avoid rowing (not very Pirate like), that would be great. I'd much rather storm the beach!

Looks like if I come I may be alone. Now as far as having me make it, so far so good. Now if a 6 digit job that I just interviewed for comes through and wants me to start work before then, I hope you can see why I will not make it. However if I do make it I will probably come down thursday stay over night on the hook and report in to the docks the next day. Now if I do make it is there prizes for following categories: The most mods completed since last Pirate Sail? Coolest Mod since last Pirate Sail? The 26X Mod that will leave a 26M in it's wake

My plan is to leave home real early Friday and be sailing before lunch. Get a quick trip out to the Atlantic and then head into the Beaufort Docks. Have work function to attend on Thursday.
Cheers,
Jim

Great!
Did you make your dock reservations? Did you contact Kendall ([email protected]) about dinner on Friday night?
See http://www.ncsail.org/ under Events/Pirate Fest 2011 - News Update
Looking forward to seeing your crew.
Since we had a sail down South and one in the Middle we were talking about one further North like near Deltaville.

Wow, another Mac (26M) just signed up
We had one local drop for now so that makes 10 out of 26 boats
It's officially a Mac take over

Victor,
I did send an email for Friday's dinner but did not get any confirmation. I also called the dock just in case.
Hoping for some good weather for that weekend,
Sea Wind

Last year during Pirate Sail 2010 I violated the 10% rule that resulted in a painful back injury that left me useless for about 3 days. This incident has forced me to take the following control measures to insure this doesn’t happen again. Two of the control measures are engineer control measures and are permanent. The third is a prototype administrative one.
Engineer control measure Number 1. Installed large handle to grab onto in the event of a fall. If unsuccessful in grabbing large handle it also has a chance to break my fall against my face.

Engineer control measure Number 2. Installed folding step the rest against the top of the ladder with rubber stops and supports my 230 something pounds.

Administrative prototyped control measure consists of adding a warning sign.

For those of you that do not know what the 10% rule is here it is. In order to operate any equipment you must be 10% smarter than that equipment

I always thought the "10% Rule" was that in any sailing yarn a Captain spins...it only has to be 10% truth...90% exaggeration, hyperbole, outright lies...ROAD Soldier wrote:

Thats why I take pictures and have witnesses so I dont have to think up that 90% all by myselfc130king wrote:I always thought the "10% Rule" was that in any sailing yarn a Captain spins...it only has to be 10% truth...90% exaggeration, hyperbole, outright lies...ROAD Soldier wrote:
