Finding MacGregors on Craigslist using Google

I didn't want to steal another guys thread about buying a new MacGregor 26X but he mentioned that it was a pain to search Craigslist for boats. Here's a way to search all of the Craigslist sites for MacGregors or anything, for that matter, using Google. Just put in your search term and follow it by site:craigslist.org

For example, in Google type:

MacGregor 26X site:craigslist.org

And that will bring up any match on any Craigslist site for the term MacGregor 26X. You can use quotes around the search term to match exactly that search, i.e. "MacGregor 26X" would match exactly that where the first term would match any combo of MacGregor and 26X. Some of them might be old ads or no longer active but lots are valid.

Of course, always check this site's classified ads first!

Hey, I think the "other thread" might have been mine.

This way of searching google works okay. and can be used on ANY website, so it is useful to know of. I still like searchtempest , because you can filter by price, and category (ie boats) to get ride of things like wheels, and golf clubs that come up.

I'm from Red Deer, Alberta and I found a 26X in Idaho last fall using Craigs list. Searching was a pain as I entered a city that I thought may have sailboats, then searched. Then did it again for another city. I figured there must be a better way....worked out. That's a great tip.

When we were looking I was planning on buying new form BWY. As always I was dream shopping, and then in BC, was the exact boat from bwy with all the bells and whistles that we wanted for half the price. I felt bad cause I had already been talking with Cheryl, but I couldn't pass it up. So i try buy everything i can from bwy now. Plus its fast shipping straight up from Washington.
