Make that 26X look like new

Post by Ivan Awfulitch »

For all of you who own the 26X, and are dealing with the fading and chipping of the MacGregor logo, Bluewater has the replacement labels (Part Number H601-1V0) in stock now at a new much lower price of $6.05 each plus postage (down from $25 each). Found it was easier to remove the labels dry, then clean up the residue with acetone and a plastic scraper (and a green scotchbrite pad to finish). Spray the side of the boat with water with a drop of soap and apply it wet so you can lightly touch it to the boat and reposition it. Once exactly where you want it, use a plastic spreader (bondo type spreader) and pull outward from the center getting all air bubbles out (with the water). Makes the boat look new.

Yup! when I was down there last week I spotted them and pick one up for the starboard side of my :macx: the port side still looked great, but haven’t had time to do it thanks for the tip.
