The 6th Annual Havasu Pocket Cruisers Convention is schedule for February 9-18, at London Bridge Resort Hotel convention center, Havasu City AZ. Been to the last two which then were free, but it gotten too big and the organizer Sean Mulligan, has to charge a $50 fee this year. Over 150 trailer-able sailboats indicating they are coming, with the MacGregor brand of sailboat being the largest contingent with 28 (see http://www.sailhavasu.com). Hopefully there will be again a sponsored MacGregor race. Newell W. on his 81' MacGregor 26D "Wind Dancer" has won this race for the last two years. And him with a leaky ballasted tank and scuffed up bottom from beaching in coves in Lake Mead.
The seminars are from real trailer sailors, not vendors selling
While it is cool at night, Newell and I launched free at Site 6 at the end of the "Island", and beached the boat at the Sailboat Cove next to Site 6. It's about 15 minute drive back to London Bridge Resort convention center. Plenty of motels in the area near the London Bridge, if that your need. Cold breakfast on board, Deli Sandwiches from Safeway for lunch, and dinner at the Golden Corral. Also Sean has gotten a reduced price for slips at the Lake Havasu Marina.
Hope to see you there
