I've often wondered why this forum doesn't have a "General Ma Discussion" section.
You know - about things that are common to ALL Mac/Venture/Westwind sailing.
Topcat... unlimited - any boat eligible - motor, sail, skiff, etc

The MacGregor Powersailor Discussion Forum (this one) has become the defacto Main Board for all things sailing that dont fit the other Fora.

Feel free to post General Discussion stuff here, even if you dont have a Powersailor.

Is this just to categorize/organize such data? I'm all for it but don't really understand why it can't already be done here? If it is more of a data base might as well make some kind of trip data base as well, with info on moorage, routes, experiences eateries, drinkeries :P , pics locations ect. Just a thought

I'm saying yes because I like that column in the magazine, and i'm not a very experienced sailor, so i read those kinds of stories with interest. But there have been a few of those articles I've read where I've questioned whether something they thought they did right really was right, and vice versa about something they said they thought was wrong. So I am asking if there will be some moderation or review by a panel of peers maybe as part of the discussion?

There are so many different / better ways that all the information on this sight can be collated. I think doing so would require a more Herculean effort from Admin / Mods to keep it right. I help admin / mod a special interest sailing forum and have started a launch ramp database that I haven't had time to update frequently with new info collected. Everything comes down to time, time, time.
