Re: MUCK-About Sail
We actually did that loop without even realizing it when we did out light house tour in 2012. It is some of the most beautiful area of the ICW and can be done in as little as 1 day and take up to 3 or 4 days to really appreciate the area. We plan on going back and doing the dismal swamp when we have more time to really enjoy and explore the place.

I found the first 8,000 miles of the drive to be rather pleasant.cptron wrote:I agree with Vic. We had a lot of fun last year but the drive liked to killed us. We would like to vote for a LOMUCKA.vkmaynard wrote:Any thought of a lower MUCKA sail as an in between? Something around Hampton?
Some are reconsidering the long drive.
That would mess up your name MLCKA ("anyboady got MLKCA?")![]()

Its about a 100 mile loop and beautiful in the spring. Everything is blooming and its before the bugs and heat. There are free docks or you can anchor in remote areas if you prefer. All the snowbirds are coming north about then with good stories from the winter. There are published itineraries online for the loop and a free video on amazon prime to see what it is like. Its probably our favorite cruise we have done.

Re: MUCK-About Sail
I've got the weekends of 7/11 and 7/18 "penciled in" on my calendar... 7/11 is likely to be easier for me, but with 5 kids there are often changes in plans. So no guarantees, but many hopes! We'll be at the Dundee Creek Marina with our
. That's just north of Middle River, and therefore VERY close to Hart Miller Island, Pooles Island and all that. Thanks for starting to arrange this!

Re: MUCK-About Sail
Due to company mergers, seniority adjustments, and other factors I was unable to guarantee any weekend time off through vacation bidding, and lately I'm only getting 1 random full weekend off during the bid monthly which is undetermined until 15days prior.
I'm sorry if this has causes any inconvenience in your sailing schedule.

Re: MUCK-About Sail
I am definitely in if a central POC can achieve consensus for a coordinated sail-plan for the group. I live on Kent island, so can attest to the desirability of Chestertown, Rock hall and Kent Narrows. Although I haven't been to Chestertown by Macgregor yet. It is a bit of a hike upriver by sail, unless the winds are out of the South.

As for the rest of you MUCKA travelers.... too funny.
Doesn't anyone live around the North Chesapeake?

Hey Tony
I'm out of the Middle River area. Launch from Maryland Marina.
I had posted earlier in this forum looking for anyone one in the area.
Don't want to crash this message board, so perhaps we can have other Chesapeaker's join us there.
