Ok - So I searched and the newest related topic was more than a year old so I just thought that I would start a new one.
Does anybody on here with a mid-80s Mac actually use the factory galley? It seems to be a big waste of space and I am considering just leaving it out and building a small sink/prep area. Either that or massively modifying the existing galley. I do have the existing plumbing in the boat to dump the drain water overboard so that is useful.
Any thoughts or comments?

Re: 1986 Mac25 Galley
I ripped mine out....took up to much space.
I have a grill mounted aft, and a camp stove I can cook in the cockpit or on shore...
no need for a "galley" in this little boat

I agree. Galley is a waste of space. At least you guys can take the fiberglass box and chuck it. '76 Venture had galley molded in. I took an angle grinder, cut it out and glassed in the space. Made a nice long quarter birth. Fair Winds and Full Sails...Old Salt.

Sounds like a plan, it's out and not going back in. A person can sleep in the space it takes up. Or I can use that space for storage.
Already bought a Magma Cabo grill and I've got a couple of Coleman stoves as well in my shed.
Thanks for the opinions!

It's a shame you didn't post this over a year ago when I had my 25, I was looking for a stock galley.

Too bad the timing didn't work out SENC. If anyone else is interested in the galley, let me know. I'm just 25 miles outside of DC.

Re: 1986 Mac25 Galley
Our Mac25 did not have a galley, and I agree the stock model is a serious waste of space. My husband built a custom galley across from the table, and then we' used the space where the stock galley would slide as storage and a quarter berth for our daughter.
