EZ cleats
Are Bill's EZ cleats still available somewhere? I go to the Kelly Hanson site and it says they are no longer taking orders. What is being used as a replacement? Thanks

Re: EZ cleats
Bill's ez-cleats are available from http://www.boats4sail.info/optional-items.html
Just purchased and received a pair. Bill does not have credit card facility so you have to post a check. $100 plus postage.

Re: Bill's EZ cleats
If the wind is on the nose, do you need a winch to tighten your sheets? - No, as there is no tension on them. If the wind is on the beam, do you need a winch to tighten your sheets? - Maybe. Or, do as I do. I turn into the wind slightly, to take the tension off of the sheet, pull it thru the cam-cleat on my EZ Cleat, and head back out. My EZ Cleats let you handle the sheets for the Jib, Genoa, and Spinnaker from the helm. They simplify single handing. The only thing I use my winch for is to tighten up my hammock on the fore-deck.

Re: EZ cleats
A friend just bought a 2002 26X Saturday. He's moving up from a 26S - in spite of having sailed with me.

Re: EZ cleats
EZ cleats are the single best widget I bought for my
since I single-hand so much.
(In fact, I just (re)discovered that my port winch still slips - even after a clean and a pawl replacement a few years ago - because I never use my winches. Any wind that is strong enough that I need the winches is strong enough to overpower my single reef and she just rounds up anyway.)

Re: EZ cleats
Sweet. I always wondered what those were for on the BWY site. Just placed an order for one to try out with my spinnaker and maybe my jib
