Removing the plastic covers at top of center support on M26X
Removing the plastic covers at top of center support on M26X
Hi, I need to get to the mast wiring at the top of the center support/keel cable guide on my 1997 Mac 26X. There is a split black plastic cover around the support pole at the cabin top. How do I remove that cover? Do I pry the halfs off or is it attached some other way? Thanks for the help, Bob

Re: Removing the plastic covers at top of center support on
Hi Bob, I have a 98X and last summer I wanted to get those black plastic caps off so I could take a look inside. Mine were just siliconed or glued on and yes split in half. Be careful when prying them up but they come off with no problem. Afterwards I just cleaned them up and put some new silicone on them and put them back on. I hope this helps:)

Thanks Tony. This helps a lot. I just didn't want to break anything internally as I was pulling them off. Now I know I won't.

I have a 1996 26x and found the same mounting technique. Just pried it off gently and was fine.
