Hi everyone,
Looking to get my first Mac and ideally would like to be able to park it under the A frame Carport/Awning at home. I have approx. 9' 6" clearance under the cross beam and wondering if I can't clear it with the mast secured in position for transport, would it be possible to remove the mast, back it in and then secure the mast back in position?
I would appreciate any advice offered.
Thank you

To sum up the previous discussion:
You are very close to the limit
Most critical is the angle of the trailer to the ground. This is determined by the height of the hitch, the loading of the vehicle, and the slope of the ground.
The only way to determine is to measure your setup at the exact location.

You will likely need to strap the mast to the deck rather than carrying it in the normal bow-pulpit to mast-arch configuration, because that angles the mast upward at the end. You'll be able to tell when you back it in.
Without the mast, you should be just fine.

You can also take the air out of the tires. That'll gain you several good inches....
... second thought, never mind

I agree, the mast angle will be an issue.mastreb wrote:You will likely need to strap the mast to the deck rather than carrying it in the normal bow-pulpit to mast-arch configuration, because that angles the mast upward at the end. You'll be able to tell when you back it in.
.
Another option is to create another (slightly lower) mast arch just for storage/light trailering.
Good Luck

If you have the typical pre-fab carport like mine you could always just raise it to the necessary height. I used galvanized fence posts driven 3 feet into the ground and angle bracket clamps I purchased from Home Depot to achieve enough clearance for our
. Worked great.
