Howdy, I was looking at the brake system and realized I do not have a solenoid on my titan model 60. I was wondering if I ordered one and put it on would it work or is that not an option? I apologize if this is a dumb question but I am still learning all this.
Thank you,
Mike

Re: Quick question on brakes
Drum brakes usually don't need the lockout, especially if they're so-called 'free-backing' types, which are self-energizing in the forward direction (the braking force adds to the slave cylinder force the way a rope around a winch drum tightens itself against the drum to some degree), but internally rearrange themselves to resist only a little when moving backwards (so there are actually left-hand and right-hand versions).
Disc brakes, on the other hand, neither know nor care which way they're spinning, so they do need a lockout solenoid. That, or a pin to mechanically lock out the coupler. The DICO or Titan model 60 (same thing) has those two hook-shaped flat bits on the coupler that you can put a pin through (a 5/8" receiver pin will fit, but won't stay unless you tie or strap it in).
