The permanent crew (it is a commissioned ship) wear period uniforms, both sailors and marines. If you play your cards right, you might have better luck than I did trying to get to the grog!

Happy Independence Day to all. One great way to celebrate the 4th is a visit to the USS Constitution in Boston. The ship is in dry dock this year, but when it is afloat they hold a lottery each spring for an invitation to be a guest for the 4th of July Turnaround Cruise. They take Old Ironsides out into the harbor for a 2-3 hour cruise to fire a 21 gun salute to the U.S.A. and return to its berth. I was fortunate to be selected for the 2013 cruise. It is a great time to be in Boston, see the historical sights, and soak in some real "Red, White and Blue" spirit. https://ussconstitutionmuseum.org/
