backstay location
I am getting a new Bimini made up at a local marine canvas shop on our X, they have all the boom measurements but I just remembered, the backstay runs down to the starboard side, does it interfere with the Bimini? Anyone got measurements for a hole through the Bimini or do I have to wait till mast up?

Re: backstay location
Mine just touches so no hole required. I did have a vinyl wear strip added to the cover as it tends to wear at that spot

Re: backstay location
Mine has a hole in it for the backstay.
Measurements would require knowledge of the elevation of the bimini relative to some reference surface on the boat, as well as the geometry of the backstay.
Best thing to do is to leave the boat with the canvas shop, with the mast up and the backstay in place. Or let them come to the marina to fit it, if it's in a marina. They're used to that anyway, as most boats can't be trailered to their shop.
