My first post here regarded my forestay and I continued posting to that thread. I'm going to document any modifications I have done in a new thread as well as pictures.
Cheers!
Fourth of July and my first overnight on the water. I added LED strip lighting in the perimeter of the cabin. They're blue but sometimes they photograph purple.

Is your image mirrored? The red side light should be on the port side.
Haha, I wondered if anyone would notice that The PO had it installed like that and I was out on the water late on JUL 3 when I noticed it was backwards.
I stayed on anchor again last night and had some calm breezes. The next day I had great wind but it picked up. I was close to the marina and I was heading in anyway so I left everything up(150 genoa and main) on a close haul. I was getting quite alot of heel which never scared me before but then I saw something big headed my way. As it hit me I dumped the main and turned into it but it slammed into my genoa and pushed me off fast. Got alot of water in the cockpit as it blew me over. I was down for about 4-5 second as it turned itself into the wind and then righted. No water in the cabin where all my electronics were but it looked like a tornado went through it. Interesting experience but I don't wanna do that again....I guess I'll just reduce sail next time
I finally found a little time to really start cutting into my boat. It makes me really nervous. I'm rewiring the whole boat because everything is an absolute rat's nest and I'm putting in new lighting.
Out with the old....
Cut holes here. I don't want the foam floatation and this will make excellent fishing rod storage on both sides. It will be covered up by a latched door.
There are plenty of bolt access holes with the little plastic plugs in the ceiling. If you can run the wiring easily its a great spot for these little lights. No drilling or cutting required. The price can't be beat and they're super bright.
I also made a new mount for the outboard out of aluminum. It works very nicely and looks great. If anyone would be interested in a group buy on the mounts let me know. I would like to see at least five units for the group buy. I'm not sure about pricing yet but probably somewhere in the $200-300 range. Total weight of the mount is 12.37lbs less the stainless steel bolts which are 3/8-16 socket head cap screws.
