Would like to find out if anyone has any ideas where I might be able to park my truck and trailer for 7-9 days? Looking to put in somewhere between Carabelle and Destin,Fl. Or anywhere in those areas. We may rent a car upon arrival to ferry the truck and trailer to a take out point after launching 50/100 miles away.
Also has anyone spent the night hooked to a loran tower (is it legal?)
Thanks

Not sure about Loran towers, but mooring to nav buoys and the like are a definite no-no. Not sure why you'd want to, though. This seems like an invitation for trouble, if swells, boat wakes and the like try to slam you into the tower. Hard to fender against that. I'm thinking you're much better off setting a good anchor, where you can swing with the wind and/or current.

Thanks Chinook. Am aware of nav aids being a no no. Have tied to loran tower decades ago for fishing. Daylight, for an hour or so. Anchoring that far offshore is probably not an option for an overnight as my longest rode is only 200'. And the Admiral has since nixed any idea of being that far away from land while both people are asleep.

She's brand new to sailing and would prefer to be in some sort of an anchorage nearer to land when sleeping. She is the process of taking classes so that she will feel more at ease in different situations. Once she feels comfortable handling the boat on her own she should be fine.
