Origo Stove parts
Origo Stove parts
We're trying to find a replacement gasket (disk) for a one burner Origo stove. On a ancient post somewhere, I saw that they were asking about $5 for this little piece of rubber. Now I've just found one source for this piece, and it is currently $17.99. Seems kind of high to me. Does anyone know a cheaper source? (The Captain made his own version, but it was apparently not the correct type of rubber, and did not last.) Thanks for any help!

Re: Origo Stove parts
All that gasket does is keep thee alcohol in the fuel canister from evaporating while the stove is not in use. You can make one for a lot less than the process you quoted.
I made one out of duct tape after forgetting to remove the disk prior to boiling a pot of water.
Aside from a handful of materials I can think of to make something suitable - perhaps the easiest is to cut a piece of a foam rubber mouse pad.
