Remember that you get what you pay for. A cheap charge controller will likely do the 'charge' job but will be very RFI noisy. Don't plan on using any HF or shortwave receivers on board. I went with an MPPT controller specifically designed to reduce noise and pass FCC class B interference rules. I can run my HF transceiver while the sun is out and charging my batteries
