I would like to be able to control jib simply using track sliding cam cleats. Would these work? https://www.velasailingsupply.com/viada ... cam-cleat/

Panda,
Did you check Blue Water Yachts for a price check?
I use Bill's ez cleats for my genoa (2005
), they look like what you are inquiring about.

I use those cam cleats on my genoa. They work great.

for the small jib, these work great

Re: Track sliding cam cleats
I've thought about using the turning block first, or even around the winch to lighten any load from gusts.

+1 on the Spinlock rope clutch. Easy to lock and unlock from the rear of the cockpit.

Explanation:
Two lines on the winch control one sheet.
The only way to stop (False) hauling the sheet is to haul on both lines (True,True).

Re: Track sliding cam cleats
Sorry, nerd joke. Couldn't resist.
On Sun May 30, 2021 3:23 am, Kurz said "Nand winch."
A NAND gate is a logic gate that only outputs FALSE if both inputs are TRUE.

So, a "NAND winch" would only stop winching if both lines on it were hauled-on.
