Bimini
Does anyone have any suggestions or measurements for a Bimini not made by MacGregor for a 26M?

Re: Bimini
U can find all kinds of off the shelve Bimini,s on amazon just select the width & length u want Ideally u want one that will start at the end of the boom & go aft if u want a longer one get one that has an adjustable height so as u can lower it for sailing & still have shade

Re: Bimini
A little more on this since Cjoy will need some shade on his Keys trip.
You will want the bwyachts.com ATTACHMENT CARS for flexibility, and so you do not have to drill holes.

The original MacGregor bimini is no longer available. I think that one was about $500, but it's a moot point now.

I never bought that one because I am tall and did not want to bend down to get underneath the bimini.
I needed some shade quick so bought a cheap sunbrella 3-bow bimini from overtons.com back in 2005 for about $250.
Dimensions were 6' Long, Width 67" - 72", Height 54" - 48"
It has about 6.5' of headroom which is nice, but unfortunately I can't use the mainsail with it up. It is getting a bit worn now, but is still functional. In order to clear the mainsail the bimini would need to have either a shorter length or lower height. I have tried moving the attachment cars as far back on the tracks as possible, but it's not quite enough to clear the main. Perhaps a 5' length would do it.
The bimini I see on the bwyachts.com website looks really nice but costs $700.

When it comes time to replace my bimini I would like to have one that I could use while sailing. I like the bwyachts.com bimini, but am hesitant to spend $700 for one. I am curious what other options are out there.

Re: Bimini
Great, thanks for the info. That’s exactly what I was trying to avoid, spending 700 bucks. They of course don’t tell you the measurements but I’ll try calling. I see lots on Amazon and e bay but not sure which will work, we’d also like it to be up while sailing. I’ll see what I can find out, thanks again!!
